Precautions

This drug is an antibiotic that kills bacteria by binding to certain proteins and interfering with the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. Before using this drug, you must check if there has been a history of severe allergic reactions or shock caused by this drug or cephalosporin antibiotics. Caution should be exercised in patients allergic to penicillin antibiotics or those with a history of allergy such as asthma, rash, or hives. Patients with severely impaired kidney function, the elderly, or those in poor general health are at higher risk of side effects and should use it cautiously under medical supervision. Patients with a history of gastrointestinal disorders should be especially cautious as issues like colitis may occur. Rarely, severe allergic reactions, skin rashes, blood abnormalities, liver or kidney dysfunction, gastrointestinal problems, and respiratory symptoms may arise, so any unusual symptoms should be immediately reported to a doctor. Long-term or excessive use of this drug may cause bleeding tendencies due to vitamin K deficiency, so periodic testing is necessary. There may be interactions when taken with other medications, especially with anticoagulants, diuretics, nephrotoxic drugs, and oral contraceptives. Women who are pregnant or nursing should use this drug cautiously after consulting a doctor, as its safety has not been fully established. It is advisable not to use this drug in infants under 1 month of age, as its safety and efficacy have not been established. Elderly patients have decreased bodily functions and are at higher risk of side effects; therefore, dosage and administration intervals should be adjusted, and careful monitoring is required. While taking this drug, there may be false-positive reactions in urine tests, so caution is required in interpreting test results.
