Precautions

This medication can cause serious side effects such as tendonitis or tendon rupture; if such symptoms occur, discontinue use immediately. It may cause peripheral neuropathy or central nervous system effects, so if neurological symptoms appear, seek prompt medical attention. It is not advised for patients with severe myasthenia gravis as it may worsen symptoms. This medication should be used only for certain bacterial infections and administered only when there are no other treatment options. Elderly patients, those with impaired renal function, and patients taking corticosteroids are at a higher risk for tendon rupture, so caution is necessary. During treatment, if there is tendon pain or inflammation, avoid exercise and rest, and if symptoms are severe, consult a physician immediately. This medication may provoke seizures, so patients with epilepsy or central nervous system disorders should use it with caution. It should not be used in pregnant women or those who may become pregnant, nursing mothers, and children under 18 years old. Avoid using this medication concurrently with certain drugs (e.g., tizanidine, ketoprofen) as it may increase the risk of side effects. Take care to avoid excessive exposure to sunlight or artificial UV light during treatment; if skin rash or itching occurs, discontinue use. It may affect blood sugar control, so diabetic patients should frequently monitor their blood glucose levels and seek immediate treatment for hypoglycemic symptoms. This medication may interact with other drugs, so inform your physician or pharmacist of any other medications you are taking. Overdosing may harm the kidneys, so adhere to the prescribed dosage and undergo renal function tests if necessary. Store this medication out of reach of children and keep it away from direct sunlight or UV light.
