Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, it should not be administered to patients allergic to its ingredients, or those at risk of gastrointestinal bleeding, gastrointestinal obstruction, or perforation. Additionally, it should not be given to patients with prolactin-secreting tumors, patients with moderate to severe liver dysfunction, or women who are pregnant or potentially pregnant. Patients with heart conduction abnormalities or heart diseases such as electrolyte imbalances or heart failure should also avoid this medication. Patients with genetic metabolic disorders such as lactose intolerance or galactose intolerance should be cautious. This medication should be administered with caution to children, patients with mild renal or hepatic impairment, elderly patients, and those with a history of heart disease. When taking this medication, side effects such as dry mouth, drowsiness, headaches, diarrhea, rashes, and excessive secretion of breast milk may occur, so any unusual symptoms should be discussed with a doctor. As this medication is primarily metabolized in the liver, patients with liver damage need dose adjustments and careful monitoring, while those with severe renal impairment should reduce the frequency and dosage of administration. This medication can cause drowsiness and dizziness; therefore, caution should be exercised when driving or operating machinery. Due to the risk of arrhythmias, especially in the elderly or patients with heart disease, consultation with a doctor before taking it is advised, and immediate discontinuation and consultation with healthcare professionals are necessary if any heart-related symptoms arise. Due to numerous drug interactions, particularly with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors or drugs that prolong the QT interval, it should not be used in combination with these. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding are advised to avoid this medication, as side effects may occur in the infant during breastfeeding. In children, dosage adjustments are necessary according to weight, and particularly in infants under 1 year old, careful monitoring for neurological side effects is essential. Elderly patients should have dose adjustments due to decreased bodily functions. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as agitation, dizziness, seizures, and changes in consciousness may occur, necessitating immediate medical attention, and ECG monitoring is required. This medication should be stored out of reach of children, and kept in its original container to prevent misuse or degradation of quality.
