Precautions

This drug should not be used in patients with a history of allergic reactions to this drug or its components. This drug should be used with caution in patients with allergies to certain antibiotics, hearing problems, renal impairment, elderly patients, and those with vestibular and cochlear damage. While using this drug, symptoms such as severe allergic reactions, blood abnormalities, hearing loss, renal function decline, and skin rashes may occasionally occur, so it is important to monitor symptoms closely. This drug helps treat infections by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, and it is ineffective against Gram-negative bacteria or fungi. Prolonged or excessive use can lead to resistant strains, so it is crucial to administer it only for the necessary duration. This drug should be used cautiously in pregnant or breastfeeding women after consulting a physician, particularly regarding its effects on the fetus or newborn. Elderly patients or those with impaired renal function should undergo renal function tests before administration, and dosage adjustments may be necessary. Inform your doctor if you are using other drugs that have nephrotoxic or neurotoxic effects, as this may exacerbate side effects. Regular hearing tests and renal function monitoring are recommended during treatment with this drug. Overdose may lead to renal dysfunction or hearing loss, which may require emergency treatment. This drug is primarily administered intravenously, and the infusion rate should be adjusted slowly to minimize the risk of side effects. If diarrhea, abdominal pain, or fever develops following antibiotic use, pseudomembranous colitis should be suspected, and immediate medical consultation is advised. If severe skin rashes or allergic symptoms occur, stop administering the drug immediately and inform medical personnel.
