This medication should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity. When using this medication, symptoms such as sneezing, irritation or burning sensation in the nasal area, headache, strange taste in the mouth, nosebleeds, runny nose, skin redness, difficulty breathing, angioedema, joint pain and swelling, itching, hives, rash, cough, wheezing, serum sickness, periarteritis, myositis, pericarditis, sunlight-induced dermatitis, skin peeling, peripheral neuropathy, and kidney disease may occur, so caution is advised. Transient irritation or sneezing may occur immediately after spraying in the nose, but most of the time there is no need to stop the medication. Since this medication is excreted through bile and the kidneys, patients with kidney or liver function problems should reduce the dosage or discontinue use. Additionally, this medication contains benzalkonium chloride, which may cause bronchospasm, and especially with prolonged use, nasal irritation, swelling, and mucosal edema may occur. Patients with allergic rhinitis taking antihypertensive drugs may experience nasal congestion symptoms when using this medication, and the effects of this medication may not be adequate, so careful monitoring is required during use. Women in the first three months of pregnancy or women who may become pregnant should preferably not use this medication as harmful effects on the fetus have been reported in animal studies. Breastfeeding women should use this medication only when the benefit is deemed greater than the risk. This medication should only be sprayed in the nose using a dedicated sprayer and should not be used for other purposes.
