This medication is used to treat various gastrointestinal disorders such as ulcers in the stomach and duodenum, gastroesophageal reflux disease, recurrent ulcers, postoperative anastomotic ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It is also effective in improving lesions such as erosion, bleeding, redness, and swelling of the gastric mucosa that occur during the acute exacerbation of acute and chronic gastritis. In summary, this drug is used to treat gastrointestinal ulcers and inflammatory lesions.

How to take

Adult dose

As cimetidine, take 400 mg orally twice a day (morning and at bedtime) or 800 mg once a day (at bedtime). Additionally, administer 300 mg orally four times a day (after meals and at bedtime). The dosage may be increased to a maximum of 1.6 g by taking 400 mg orally four times a day (after meals and at bedtime). Precautions

When this medication is provided in glass ampoule form, care must be taken when opening the container as glass fragments may mix in. Particular caution should be exercised when used by children or the elderly. Patients allergic to or who have experienced hypersensitivity reactions to any component of this drug should not be administered this medication. Also, patients taking certain cardiac arrhythmia medications may be at risk when using this drug. Patients with lactose intolerance or certain genetic metabolic disorders should not take this medication. Patients with impaired kidney or liver function, the elderly, children under 19 years, and patients undergoing hemodialysis should use this medication with caution as dosage adjustments or interval modifications may be necessary. This medication may hide symptoms of gastric cancer, so it should only be used after confirming the malignancy, and patients infected with Helicobacter pylori should also receive eradication treatment. This medication should be used with caution in patients allergic to Yellow No. 4 (Tartrazine). During use, there may be occurrences of blood cell count reduction, liver function abnormalities, kidney function issues, allergic reactions, hormonal imbalances, gastrointestinal symptoms, neurological anomalies, heart rhythm disturbances, or serious skin reactions. If any abnormal symptoms occur, consult a physician immediately. This drug may interact with other medications; therefore, especially when taken alongside anticoagulants, anticonvulsants, cardiac medications, antibiotics, and antidepressants, dosage adjustments or discontinuation may be required as directed by a physician. For women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, the administration of this drug should be decided carefully, and nursing women should discontinue breastfeeding if taking this medication. The safety of this drug in children has not been sufficiently confirmed, so it should only be used when absolutely necessary. Elderly patients may experience increased drug concentrations due to decreased kidney function, so dosages should be reduced or administration intervals extended. In cases of overdose, serious side effects such as respiratory depression can occur, so appropriate medical treatment should be obtained immediately. When administered intravenously, rapid injection may cause arrhythmias or decreased blood pressure, so injections should be performed slowly. This medication should be stored out of reach of children, and transferring it to another container should be avoided as it may cause accidents and loss of quality.
