This medication is used for idiopathic Parkinson’s disease, other Parkinson's disease due to post-encephalitis or arteriosclerosis, and Parkinson’s disease caused by antipsychotic drugs.
Dosage
During treatment, it is advisable to have regular eye examinations and measure intraocular pressure. This medication may impair attention, concentration, and reflexes, so it is safest to avoid driving or operating dangerous machinery.
Precautions
This medication should not be used in patients with glaucoma, those who are hypersensitive to this medication, patients with myasthenia gravis, and infants under 3 years old. Additionally, patients with genetic conditions such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, and glucose-galactose malabsorption should also avoid this medication. Caution is warranted when administering this medication to patients with urological obstructive disorders such as prostatic hyperplasia, patients with arrhythmia or tachycardia, patients with impaired liver or kidney function, elderly patients, children over 3 years old, and patients who do not sweat well in hot environments.
Side effects
When starting treatment, begin with a small dose and gradually increase while closely monitoring the condition. When switching from another medication to this one, the existing medication should be gradually reduced while the dosage of this medication is increased.
