Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients allergic to this drug or its components, or in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Caution is required when using this medication in patients with hyperthyroidism, hypertension, weak heart function, arrhythmias, and diabetes. Neurological symptoms such as headache, tremors, nervousness, drowsiness, numbness, dizziness, insomnia, muscular rigidity, and anxiety may occur with this medication. Heart rate may increase or become irregular, and symptoms such as blood pressure fluctuations, facial flushing, and a feeling of chest tightness may occur. From a respiratory standpoint, pharyngitis, nasal congestion, and wheezing may infrequently occur. From the gastrointestinal perspective, decreased appetite, indigestion, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and heartburn may manifest. Rarely, hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rashes, itching, angioedema, urticaria, bronchospasm, swelling of the mouth and throat, hypotension, and lethargy may occur; if these symptoms appear, discontinue use immediately. Excessive use of this medication can lead to cardiac arrhythmias or heart attack, so caution is necessary. Adhere strictly to the prescribed usage and dosage; if there is no effect, do not continue use and consult a physician. When using this medication in children, be sure to explain the method correctly and monitor their condition closely. Potassium levels in the blood may decrease; therefore, extra caution is needed when used with other medications, and patients with hypoxia should regularly check their serum potassium levels. This medication is not a substitute for anti-inflammatory drugs such as inhaled steroids for the treatment of bronchial asthma; therefore, do not reduce or discontinue inhaled steroids without a physician's guidance even if symptoms improve. In the event of an acute asthma attack, other medications such as short-acting inhaled beta-2 agonists should be used. If the dosage of this medication increases or its effectiveness is insufficient, seek treatment promptly. Using this drug with other medications that may affect the heart can increase the risk of side effects, especially avoid using it with catecholamines, MAO inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants, and non-selective beta-blockers. Pregnant women should only use this medication when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks to the fetus. It is advisable not to use in premature or newborn infants as safety has not been established. Elderly patients should use with caution, as they may have decreased physical function and may require a dosage reduction. In cases of overdose, usually stopping the medication will alleviate symptoms, but a cardiac-selective beta-blocker may be used as an antidote; however, extra caution is needed for patients with a history of bronchospasm.
