Precautions

This medication should be handled with extreme caution when cutting the container, as glass fragments may mix in when using glass ampule injections. Extra attention is particularly necessary when used in children or the elderly. Patients who have had allergic reactions to cimetidine or other ingredients, or who are at risk of certain cardiac arrhythmias should not be administered this medication. Patients with lactose intolerance or specific genetic problems should also avoid taking this medication. Patients with poor kidney or liver function, elderly individuals, children, or those undergoing hemodialysis may need dosage adjustments or changes in administration intervals. This medication can mask gastric cancer symptoms, so it should only be used after confirming that gastric cancer is not present. For patients with gastric and duodenal ulcers who test positive for Helicobacter pylori, eradication therapy should be conducted simultaneously. Regular blood tests, liver function tests, and kidney function tests should be performed while taking this medication to detect adverse reactions early. This medication can cause various side effects including blood cell reduction, hepatitis, kidney issues, allergic reactions, gynecomastia, digestive disorders, neurological issues, and skin reactions; therefore, patients should consult a physician immediately when symptoms occur. Particularly in elderly or patients with deteriorated kidney function, attention should be paid to neurological side effects such as confusion or seizures. This medication can interact with various other drugs, so patients must inform healthcare providers about any other medications being taken. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should use this medication only when the benefits outweigh the risks, and breastfeeding should be paused if using this medication. Safety has not been established for children, so it should be administered cautiously only when necessary. Elderly patients may need to adjust dosage and intervals due to the risk of elevated drug concentration due to decreased kidney function. In the case of overdose, respiratory depression and other issues may occur, and immediate medical care should be sought. When used as an injection, rapid intravenous administration can cause arrhythmias or hypotension, so it should be administered slowly. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and should not be transferred to another container.
