Precautions

This medication is provided as an ampoule injection, and care must be taken when cutting the container, as glass fragments may be included. Extra caution is warranted when administering to children or the elderly. This medication should not be administered to certain patients. For example, it should not be used by individuals who are allergic to this drug or similar drugs, those with gastrointestinal or urinary obstruction or stricture, patients with bronchial asthma, patients with iritis, individuals with hyperactive thyroid function, patients with myotonic disorders, patients with Parkinson's disease, patients in shock after surgery or with cardiovascular issues, and individuals using certain muscle relaxants. Moreover, it should be used cautiously in patients with poor kidney function, peptic ulcers, individuals who have undergone gastrointestinal surgery, diabetes patients, patients with liver damage, heart failure, recent myocardial infarction, arrhythmias or bradycardia, and hypotension, and regular liver function tests should be conducted. Potential side effects of this medication include respiratory muscle paralysis, abdominal pain, diarrhea, sweating, miosis, muscle cramps, and other symptoms may occur in cases of overdose. If any such symptoms arise, administration should be stopped immediately, and necessary treatment should be sought. Additionally, symptoms related to muscarinic effects such as diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain, tearing, sweating, and increased bronchial secretions may occur, along with muscle cramps or weakness reported. If a rash appears, use of this medication should be stopped immediately, and thrombophlebitis may occur during intravenous administration, so caution is advised. In severe myasthenia gravis patients, symptoms may suddenly worsen, and careful observation during administration is essential. If symptoms worsen after administration, the medication should be stopped immediately, and appropriate treatment should be initiated. Since this medication is primarily excreted through the kidneys, dosage should be reduced in patients with impaired kidney function, and bradycardia may occur, so heart disease patients should exercise special caution. Drug interactions are also important. Co-administration with certain muscle relaxants or anticholinergic drugs may increase side effects or complicate dosage regulation, so caution is warranted in combination use. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should use this medication only after carefully weighing the necessity and risks, as its safety has not been established, and it is advisable to discontinue breastfeeding if possible during treatment. Elderly patients are more likely to have reduced kidney function, so administration should begin with lower doses and closely monitored condition.
