This medication is a beta-lactam antibiotic and should not be administered to patients with allergies to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics. Particularly, caution is required in patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia as the risk of rash may increase. Patients with a history of liver dysfunction may experience recurring liver damage, so confirmation is essential before use. Patients with liver impairment should be cautious as liver function may worsen during treatment with this medication. Patients with moderate or severe renal impairment may experience delayed drug elimination, necessitating adjustments in administration intervals. Patients with allergic conditions or hypersensitivity symptoms such as bronchial asthma or skin rash should exercise caution when using this medication. Patients who have difficulty with oral intake, elderly patients, or those in poor general condition may display symptoms of vitamin K deficiency, requiring observation. Patients with gastrointestinal disorders or severe vomiting or diarrhea may have inadequate drug absorption, so caution is advised. Gastrointestinal side effects may include diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and in severe cases, serious colitis like pseudomembranous colitis may occur. Symptoms of liver dysfunction, jaundice, and hepatitis may arise, so immediate consultation with a physician is necessary if abnormal symptoms occur. Rarely, severe skin allergic reactions or anaphylactic shock may occur, requiring immediate cessation of the medication if allergic symptoms appear. Abnormalities related to blood such as leukopenia, anemia, and thrombocytopenia have been reported, which may necessitate regular blood tests. Central nervous system abnormalities may include dizziness, headaches, and seizures occurring rarely, so caution is needed if symptoms arise. Patients with reduced kidney function are at risk for acute renal failure, hence renal function should be monitored before and after administration. This medication can affect the intestinal flora, potentially reducing the effectiveness of oral contraceptives, therefore women taking the medication should be cautious. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should use this medication cautiously under the guidance of a physician as it may affect the fetus or infant. Children, especially those under 12 years of age or weighing less than 40 kg, have limited experience with this medication, thus its use is not recommended. Elderly patients have a higher risk of adverse reactions due to declining physiological functions, so careful observation and dosage adjustment are necessary. This medication can affect certain clinical tests, such as urine glucose tests, so this should be taken into consideration during testing. In cases of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms, electrolyte imbalances, renal failure, and seizures may occur, requiring immediate medical treatment.
