This medication is used to treat allergic reactions such as allergic rhinitis, hay fever, urticaria, as well as pruritic skin conditions and angioedema. It also helps alleviate sneezing, runny nose, and cough symptoms associated with the common cold. As an injectable, it is used to treat severe allergic reactions like anaphylactic shock and angioedema. Overall, it is effective in improving various allergy symptoms and skin diseases.
Dosage
Tablet: For Clemastine, take 1 mg once in the morning and once in the evening orally. Do not exceed 2 mg daily. Injection: For Clemastine, 2 mg should be injected intramuscularly or intravenously once in the morning and once in the evening.
Precautions
This medication should not be used by breastfeeding women, infants under 1 year of age, or those allergic to this medication or other antihistamines. Patients with asthma attacks or lower respiratory tract diseases should not take this medication. Individuals with benign prostatic hyperplasia or lower urinary tract obstruction should be cautious, as the anticholinergic effects of this medication may worsen urination difficulties. Patients with glaucoma should avoid this medication due to the risk of increased intraocular pressure. This medication contains lactose and is not suitable for those with lactose intolerance or specific metabolic disorders. Patients with stenosing peptic ulcers or pyloric duodenal obstruction should use it cautiously, as gastrointestinal motility may be suppressed, worsening symptoms. Individuals with hypertension, hyperthyroidism, cardiovascular disease, or a history of bronchial asthma should also exercise caution when taking this medication. Patients with epilepsy or seizure disorders, or those allergic to Yellow 4 (Tartrazine), should be careful when using this medication. This medication can cause drowsiness, so it is advisable to avoid driving or operating dangerous machinery while taking it. Taking it with alcohol or central nervous system depressants may enhance its effects, so it must be discussed with a doctor. Taking it alongside anticholinergics can also intensify anticholinergic effects, warranting dose adjustments. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should cautiously use this medication only if its safety is well established. Breastfeeding women should avoid taking this medication as it can be passed into breast milk. Children and minors may exhibit central nervous system symptoms, requiring careful observation during administration. Elderly individuals may experience side effects such as dizziness, tremors, or hypotension more frequently, so caution is advised. In case of overdose, central nervous system abnormalities, vomiting, flushing, pupil dilation, and other symptoms may occur, requiring immediate medical attention. When used as an injection, intra-arterial administration is prohibited, and intravenous administration should be done slowly over 2-3 minutes.

Interactions
Do not take this medication with MAO inhibitors. Consult your doctor or pharmacist when using it together with central nervous system depressants (hypnotics, sedatives, tranquilizers, etc.) and anticholinergics.
