According to a study published in BMC Medicine, being more active in the morning and evening may reduce the risk of colon cancer by 11%.
Researchers at the University of Regensburg in Germany tracked physical activity by having 86,252 adults aged 42 to 79 wear an accelerometer device on their wrists, using data from the UK Biobank. The researchers categorized activities into continuous daytime activities, late-night activities, morning and evening activities, and midday and nighttime activities. Over a five-year follow-up period, 529 individuals were diagnosed with colon cancer.
Research findings indicated that the two hours during the day with the most activity (8 a.m. and 6 p.m.) were associated with a reduced risk of colon cancer. People who exercised during these times were found to have an 11% lower likelihood of developing colon cancer compared to those who exercised at other times.
Professor Michael Reitzman, the lead author of the study, stated, "Physical activity is not only important in reducing the risk of colon cancer, but the timing of peak activity during the day may also play a significant role."
Experts suggest that the findings of this study indicate there are specific times most suitable for physical activity, and this information can be used to develop cancer prevention strategies.

I have it, is it really good for health?
On days with good weather, I should go for a walk.
