During the hot summer months, many people want to wear sleeveless tops, but are particularly concerned about arm fat. Let's learn about the causes and solutions for arm fat.

 

◇As we age, we lose elasticity.

 

The upper arms are prone to fat accumulation. This is because they receive less exercise than other areas and have poor blood circulation. As we age, collagen in the skin decreases, causing the skin to sag and lose elasticity, making the upper arms appear even more saggy.

Poor posture can surprisingly contribute to arm flabbyness. In particular, hunching over without fully exposing your chest can cause severe tension in your neck and muscles. This can impede blood circulation in your upper body, making arm flabby more likely to develop. Furthermore, carrying heavy objects with only one arm or carrying a bag on one side can also contribute to thick arms. Furthermore, consuming a lot of pure fat foods like animal-based butter, whipped cream, and ice cream can also contribute to arm flabbyness.

◇Improving lifestyle habits and exercising in parallel

 

To lose arm fat, improve your lifestyle habits and incorporate simple exercise. Here are some simple exercises you can do at home:

 

▶Move with both arms crossed

 

Another effective movement is to hold an object of equal weight, such as a book or water bottle, in both hands and move them in a crisscross motion. First, hold a water bottle in each hand and extend your arms straight out in front of you. Spread your arms wide, then bring them together in an X shape. As your arms cross, alternately raise your right and left arms. Don't bend your arms; keep them straight throughout. Repeat this movement for three sets of 15 repetitions. This tightens the inner and lower arm muscles, preventing sagging forearms.

 

▶Standing sled

 

The standing sled is a bare-handed exercise that involves rowing your arms as if sledding while standing. Start with your feet shoulder-width apart and your knees slightly bent. Then, with your arms parallel to each other, lean forward, keeping your lower body still and extending both arms backward. Use the momentum to return your extended arms to the starting position. Three sets of 15 repetitions will burn fat in the back of your upper arms, giving you a smoother, more toned biceps.
