Drinking about 8 glasses of water a day is an important requirement for maintaining health. Especially during the hot summer months when you sweat a lot, proper hydration is essential. Water is not excreted as urine immediately after drinking.

It transports oxygen and nutrients in the blood to various parts of the body, helping organs and tissues function smoothly. It also plays a role in keeping the skin moist to prevent aging. Conversely, if water intake becomes insufficient, dehydration occurs, which accelerates skin aging and prevents waste products from being properly filtered, potentially leading to health problems.

 

Frequent muscle cramps and accumulated fatigue may be caused by dehydration. However, drinking eight glasses of water a day is not easy. How can we increase our water intake? Based on information from American health and medical media such as 'Prevention,' here are ways to effectively stay hydrated.

Drink with added fruit

 

If you find it difficult to drink water because of its bland taste, there is a way to add a slight flavor. Thinly slice lime, orange, lemon, cucumber, etc., and add them to the water. The aroma of the fruit will be felt, making the taste less bland. Additionally, the vitamin C contained in the fruit helps with fatigue relief and skin health.

"Keep it in an easily accessible place"

 

If snacks are within reach, you'll tend to snack on them, and if water is nearby, you'll drink water. When sitting at a desk working, place water on the desk, and when sitting on the living room sofa, place water on the table.

When the weather gets hotter like these days, the temperature of water left at room temperature can become lukewarm, making it unappealing to drink. In such cases, you can fill a 2-liter water bottle with a good amount of ice and then pour water over it, allowing you to continuously enjoy cold water.

Put the portable water bottle in the refrigerator.

 

On days when you spend a lot of time outdoors, you should bring water with you. However, you may often forget to do so or find it bothersome. Preparing a portable water bottle in advance can reduce the hassle. Instead of keeping the water bottle in the cabinet, store it in the refrigerator so that you can simply grab it and go when you leave.

Eat foods that are high in moisture frequently.

 

One of the easiest ways to increase internal hydration is to eat foods with high water content. Consuming fruits and vegetables such as watermelon, cucumber, strawberries, and tomatoes directly, or making salads, juices, or smoothies with them can simultaneously provide nutrients and replenish water.
