I'll tell you about the successful results of quitting smoking in 2019.
It was the summer of 2019, and it was incredibly hot. I took a puff from an e-cigarette, but even that was nauseating. So this time, I made a firm resolution to quit smoking after 10 years. I was a heavy smoker, always carrying cigarettes and e-cigarettes in my bag. So this time, with a strong resolve, I visited the public health center's smoking cessation clinic. The public health center offered various programs and asked about smoking cessation needles, gum, and supplements, but I resolved to quit without doing anything. The day after leaving the public health center, I endured the withdrawal symptoms without any major problems. The next day and the day after that passed without any major issues. Three days is a scary thing. I'm just getting started. Korean food is especially rich in garlic, so after eating, my mouth felt incredibly dry. So I brushed my teeth immediately and used a strong mouthwash. I endured each day like this, but finally hit a snag: a gathering with friends. I don't usually drink, but I enjoy various social gatherings. I resisted the advice of others and started again with the conviction that I really had to quit. I had to quit. After deciding to quit, I started exercising recklessly to forget the withdrawal symptoms that were creeping in. I ran until I was out of breath, replacing the cravings with exercise. To prevent the weight gain that comes with quitting, I also followed a strict diet plan.
The first year was challenging, but now, seven years later, exercise has become a part of my daily routine, and I've actually been able to avoid the smell of cigarettes. Healthy muscles, clearer lungs, and a healthy weight are the greatest gifts of quitting smoking. Seven years of quitting smoking and exercising have not only helped me abstain from smoking, but have also transformed my life into a healthier and more confident one. I plan to continue this comfortable routine, and every time I go for a health checkup at the hospital, I feel better every day.
