Taking pictures under the twinkling lights and enjoying warm food makes winter in Seoul more special than ever.
Gwanghwamun, the heart of Seoul, is bathed in a special light at the end of the year. Even in the cold winter air, the dazzling lights and Christmas trees that fill the square create a warm atmosphere, creating unforgettable memories for both residents and tourists.
The Gwanghwamun Year-End Festival features a large tree and various sculptures, creating numerous photo opportunities. In the evening, twinkling lights illuminate the square, making a winter night stroll even more romantic.
I witnessed firsthand the moment when the streets of Seoul were bathed in light. The Lantern Festival began at 6:00 PM and lasted until 11:00 PM, while the Gwanghwamun Market ran from 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM. Thanks to the extended operating hours, I was able to enjoy the festival to my heart's content.
The record of 1.48 million visitors in just five days is no surprise, as the venue was filled with people's laughter and warmth. Walking along the streets adorned with lights, the allure of Seoul's nighttime atmosphere dwarfs the chill of winter.
