A review of double eyelid surgery performed 10 years ago, then reopened, and re-operated with a different method.

Recently, I am sharing my review of my double eyelid revision surgery.

It's not even a month yet, haha. Even though it's a reoperation, since it's an embedded procedure, the swelling is almost gone and the shape is just right. But it will probably shrink more, right? I think that might be a bit disappointing 🥹

 

First, the before and after photos!!

Exactly ten years ago around this time, I had double eyelid surgery with a buried method, and my eyes have since relaxed. As my left eye naturally relaxed and formed an outline, I actually liked it more and thought I might just live with it like this. However, over time, depending on my condition, it has been gradually loosening more and more.

Other than that, I have no discomfort at all, and I wanted a semi-outline, so I am very pleased and glad I did it haha

 

 

Since each person has different eyelid shapes and eye appearances, you would need to visit various hospitals and consult in person. In my case, I have no fat in my eyelids and thin skin, and I have never heard any plastic surgery clinic say that my eyes are difficult to operate on. There were no hospitals that recommended additional procedures like epicanthoplasty or lateral canthoplasty.

 

Maybe that's why I always go for the lowest price... I remember shouting the lowest price and shopping around, haha. Of course, it was basic that the doctor understood my eyes well and was good at guiding the line!!

 

Why was an incision not made?

There was a hospital that recommended incision for double eyelid surgery that was released through embedding, but I still consider myself young, so I was convinced that if the eyelid fat sags later, I would inevitably need an incision. That's why I definitely passed on the incisionㅠㅠ

 

The hospital that recommends incision said that if I want, I can have it done as an embedded procedure, but they couldn't guarantee when it might loosen again... ㅠㅠ

 

 

Why did you choose the surgical hospital?

The biggest reason was that I could trust and have faith. It was not a large factory-style hospital, but a single-doctor plastic surgery clinic. As a result, it seemed like they performed several surgeries a day.

 

My surgery was scheduled for late afternoon, but you were still in the middle of a procedure right up until then, so I was worried you might be too exhausted. But as expected, you're a professional... Even on the day of the surgery, before I could ask if I liked the doctor, you confidently said you liked him and that everything turned out as you wanted. Your confidence was impressive, and that aspect of yours earned my trust.

 

Even when I look at it again now, it looks exactly the same as the initial line you drew to make both eyes symmetrical, and I am amazed every time I see it. At first, I was worried that the swelling in both eyes was different and that I might have to go around with uneven double eyelids for a few months, but the swelling went down quickly, and now I feel so comfortable that I almost forget I had double eyelid surgery, as long as there's no bruise.

 

Additional information

I had rhinoplasty experience 10 years ago, and over the years, I have visited various hospitals to get multiple quotes while accompanying friends, so I believe I have a relatively good understanding of my eyes. Therefore, I completely avoided hospitals with unreasonable prices, and no matter how many events they held, I prioritized good communication with the doctor and how they responded to my questions as the most important factors.

 

I trusted my instincts and after paying the reservation fee, I looked up reviews from others who had done the same at the same hospital, and there were many very satisfied reviews. When I searched, I tried to focus on negative reviews about oo Hospital, but there were none. In fact, the hospital was chosen by people even more meticulous than me, so I felt even more reassured and able to proceed confidently.

 

It may just be a matter of personal perception, but the director is definitely not the kind to be gentle and affectionate. That said, he doesn't speak bluntly or harshly, but he only says what is necessary, and when you ask about something you're curious about, he answers immediately and convincingly. I think these qualities have earned my trust.

 

It's not yet a month, so my double eyelids haven't fully swollen down, but after about three months, I will upload the results again~~~~ I hope this can be some information or help for those of you considering revision surgery like me!!
