Is it better to have wisdom teeth extracted in advance, even if they don't hurt?

I haven't had any major inconveniences because of my wisdom teeth yet.

However, every time I go to the dentist
I am told to check it before a problem arises later.

I don't have any pain right now, so is it really necessary to have it removed?
Or I'm confused whether I can just leave it and watch it depending on the direction or location.

I'm also worried that I might be unnecessarily messing with my perfectly fine teeth.
