Lotte Mart announced on the 10th that it will release two types of chicken gangjeong made with honey as the main ingredient.

The price is in the 9,000 won range for 'Honey Apple Chicken Gangjeong' made with apple jam and apple juice, and 'Honey Soy Chicken Gangjeong' simmered with honey and soy sauce to enhance the honey aroma.

The new product, which follows the popularity of the flagship item, Gangyeot Chicken Gangjeong from Lotte Mart's ready-to-eat food (deli) corner, was developed through a six-month joint research effort by professional chefs and product planners (MDs) at Lotte Mart Food Innovation Center.

The Gangyeot Chicken Gangjeong introduced by Lotte Mart in 2017 has sold over 5 million packs annually and has maintained the top spot in chicken gangjeong sales for several years.

Lotte Mart will sell its newly launched chicken gangjeong product at a price 2,000 won cheaper than the regular price, around 7,000 won, from today until the 16th.

Shin Ji-min, MD of the Lotte Mart and Super Deli Development Team, said, "We are working to develop new products that break away from traditional large supermarket deli menus, focusing on new flavors and textures," and added, "Starting with honey chicken gangjeong, we plan to soon introduce a new line of chicken products using different seasonings."
