Can disc problems be treated with traditional medicine?

I received an initial diagnosis of a herniated disc. It's a lumbar disc.

They say it's not enough to warrant a procedure or surgery.

Since the orthopedic clinic is far from home, I'm thinking of visiting a traditional Korean medicine clinic.

My friend said that you can't treat a herniated disc with just one acupuncture session; it's only effective when the muscles are tense.

Is disc treatment not possible with traditional Korean medicine?

My back is also uncomfortable, but I can't bring myself to walk for 20 to 30 minutes to the orthopedic clinic.
