A new year has dawned. Many people have likely reflected on finishing 2024 and have vowed to have a healthier and more energetic year ahead. If you have accumulated a lot of fatigue and your daily rhythm has been disrupted, try foods that help relieve fatigue to chase away tiredness and restore your daily life.

 

◇Kiwi

 

Kiwis are rich in vitamin C, which helps boost vitality. Vitamin C promotes the secretion of happiness hormones such as adrenaline, serotonin, and oxytocin. In addition to vitamin C, kiwis are abundant in dietary fiber and minerals, which help improve fatigue. The chlorophyll and isoflavone components in kiwis also aid in liver cell regeneration, helping to relieve fatigue. According to a study by a research team at Otago University in New Zealand, people who consumed two kiwis daily for four weeks experienced a 38% reduction in fatigue and a 34% decrease in depression, with vitality increasing by 31%.

Strawberry

 

Strawberries are known to have the highest vitamin C content among fruits. The vitamin C in strawberries actively stimulates the adrenal cortex, which regulates various hormones, making it very effective for relieving fatigue, boosting immunity, and alleviating stress. Additionally, it has antioxidant properties that help whiten the skin. It is even more beneficial when eaten with dairy products such as milk, probiotic drinks, or yogurt. It also provides calcium, which helps prevent osteoporosis.

A fresh tangerine contains over 30mg of vitamin C. The vitamin C in tangerines activates energy metabolism, and the citric acid responsible for their sour taste helps remove fatigue substances accumulated in blood vessels and promotes metabolism. Additionally, citrus fruits such as tangerines, oranges, and hallabongs are rich in vitamin A, which also helps relieve eye fatigue.

If you feel extremely tired every morning, try eating an apple. Vitamin C in apples, also known as the queen of fruits, helps relieve fatigue and strengthens the body's immune function. Especially if fatigue recurs daily, it may be due to poor liver health. The pectin in apples helps eliminate toxins produced during digestion, reducing the burden on the liver's detoxification process. Additionally, the red skin of apples contains anthocyanin, which has strong antioxidant effects, so it is beneficial to eat the apple with the skin on.

Oysters, which are in season during winter, are also highly effective for fatigue recovery. Oysters contain 1,163 mg of taurine per 100 grams. Taurine, known as a natural fatigue reliever, not only enhances brain function but also activates muscle cell function, increasing the energy level of muscles. Therefore, muscles consume more glucose, quickly replenishing the energy deficiency in our bodies.

 

◇Walnut

 

Walnuts, known as a food good for the brain, also have a mood-enhancing effect. The antioxidant components in walnuts, such as selenium and linolenic acid, help relieve brain fatigue and activate neural pathways. Consuming walnuts can help alleviate stress and depression, and the tocopherol content in walnuts reduces physical fatigue, aiding in recovery of energy. In fact, a study by the University of South Australia in Australia found that people who ate half a cup of walnuts daily had lower levels of stress and depression compared to those who did not.
