Everyone ages as time passes after birth. However, the rate of physical aging varies from person to person. Some people in their 50s have physical ages comparable to their 20s or 30s, while many others are weakened to the level of their 70s or 80s. There are two tests to determine whether my physical age is at an appropriate level.
You can find out your physical age
The second test is 'standing up from a 40cm high chair with one foot.'
Do not use both hands at this time; keep them together in front of your chest.
This test, devised in Japan, considers the inability to stand on one leg as the initial stage (Stage 1) of motor function decline syndrome. If a person cannot stand up from a 20cm high chair using both legs, it is regarded as a severe form (Stage 2) of motor function decline syndrome.
To stand on one leg, the quadriceps in the front of the thigh and the gluteal muscles, the largest muscles in our body, must be sufficiently developed. People with well-developed these two muscles can be considered to have high muscle mass and strength.
To strengthen the gluteal and thigh muscles, consistent lower body training is necessary. To do this, it is recommended to fix your upper body by placing both hands on your hips without moving your torso, then perform lunges by bending one knee and extending the opposite leg backward while tapping the ground. Additionally, lying on the floor with legs straight and engaging the thigh muscles, then pulling the toes toward the body at a 45-degree angle and holding for three seconds is effective for strengthening the quadriceps, which are widely distributed across the thighs. A sedentary lifestyle that involves remaining still promotes muscle loss after middle age. Moving your body is essential to maintain physical strength and health.
