Will Botox be effective for wrinkles around the eyes?

I've seen quite a few people getting Botox for wrinkles around their eyes; I wonder if it hurts and how long the swelling lasts. I'm curious how many times it takes to be effective.

I thought I was taking care of my eyes with eye cream regularly, but it isn't as effective as I expected.
