Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. Individuals with allergies or hypersensitivity to this medication or its components, those taking Atazanavir or Rilpivirine, and pregnant or breastfeeding women should not take this medication. Patients with liver or kidney dysfunction, elderly patients, those with weakened heart or lung function, patients with electrolyte imbalances, and patients who need to limit sodium intake should use this medication with caution. This medication contains a dye called Yellow No. 5, which requires caution in individuals allergic to this component. When taking this medication, allergic symptoms such as skin rash, urticaria, or itching may occur, and if such symptoms appear, the use should be stopped immediately. Regular blood tests may be necessary as red blood cell or white blood cell counts can change. It may affect liver function, resulting in elevated liver enzymes or symptoms of hepatitis and jaundice, so periodic checks on liver health are essential. Cardiac issues or blood pressure abnormalities, headaches, dizziness, and other neurological symptoms have also been reported, along with gastrointestinal symptoms like diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. Respiratory symptoms such as coughing or breathing difficulties may emerge, and in rare cases, severe lung disorders can occur; if there are symptoms of fever, cough, or breathing difficulty, immediate consultation with healthcare personnel is advised. Muscle pain or joint pain, skin rashes, hair loss, and visual disturbances have also been reported, so these symptoms should be carefully monitored. This medication suppresses gastric acid secretion, and long-term use may increase the risk of bone fractures and may lead to vitamin B12 absorption impairment. Additionally, there may be a slight increase in the risk of gastrointestinal infections, so if diarrhea persists, inform healthcare personnel. Caution is advised when driving or operating machinery as drowsiness may occur. There may be interactions with other drugs, so it is essential to inform healthcare personnel if taking especially Warfarin, Methotrexate, Atazanavir, or Rilpivirine. It is safer not to use this medication during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Elderly individuals may have impaired liver function, so if any unusual symptoms occur, the use should be stopped immediately, and a doctor should be consulted. This medication should be swallowed whole without chewing or crushing, and stored out of reach of children.
