This medication is used in adults for severe pain or cases that require rapid effect, particularly for short-term treatment of moderate to severe pain following surgery.
Dosage and Administration
Adult dosage
This medication is administered intravenously as needed, at a dose of 1 vial (100 mL, corresponding to 1000 mg acetaminophen/300 mg ibuprofen) every 6 hours. The maximum daily dosage must not exceed 4 g of acetaminophen. The intravenous administration of this medication should last for 15 minutes.
Precautions
This medication must be used carefully, as confusion between milligrams and milliliters during administration can lead to serious overdose or death; verify the exact dosage. It is advisable to use appropriate analgesics immediately when oral intake is possible. Since this medication contains acetaminophen, verify that other medications do not also contain acetaminophen to avoid overdose. Severe liver damage can occur if the recommended dosage is exceeded, so extra caution is necessary for those with liver dysfunction; patients with liver diseases should consult a physician before taking it. Regular drinkers should consult a professional before using this medication due to increased risk of liver damage. Severe skin reactions may occur infrequently; discontinue use immediately if a skin rash or hypersensitivity reaction appears. Serious allergic reactions, such as anaphylaxis, may occur; patients with asthma or aspirin hypersensitivity should not use this medication. For patients with cardiovascular diseases or risk factors, the risk of myocardial infarction or stroke may increase when using this medication, so it should only be used at the minimum dosage for a short period. Serious gastrointestinal adverse reactions like bleeding, ulcers, or perforations may occur, so caution is especially warranted for elderly patients or those on long-term use. This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any component or excipients, or those with severe liver, kidney, or heart diseases, active alcohol use disorder, or a history of gastrointestinal bleeding. Pregnant women in late pregnancy should not take this medication as it may affect the fetus. Possible interactions may occur when combined with other specific medications, so consult a professional if you are currently taking any medications. The safety and efficacy of this medication in patients under 18 years have not been established; patients aged 65 and older are at higher risk of adverse reactions, so dosage adjustment and close monitoring are necessary. Dizziness or drowsiness may appear while driving or operating machinery; caution should be exercised when such symptoms occur. Severe adverse effects, such as acute liver damage, renal failure, or gastrointestinal bleeding, may occur in case of overdose, requiring immediate medical attention. Regular monitoring of liver function, kidney function, and blood tests should be conducted while administering this medication, and any signs of abnormalities should be promptly reported to a healthcare professional. The injection should be visually checked for discoloration or foreign substances before administration, and should not be used if any abnormalities are found.
