Improvement of blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes
This medication is used to assist in blood sugar control for patients with type 2 diabetes. It is used as an adjunct to dietary and exercise therapy and can also be used alone. In cases where prior diabetes medication treatment has not been experienced and monotherapy is insufficient, it can be combined with Metformin. Additionally, when blood sugar control is difficult with sulfonylurea, Metformin, thiazolidinedione, or insulin monotherapy, this medication is used as a combination treatment. It is also added as an adjunct in multiple drug combination therapies when sufficient blood sugar control is not achieved. Therefore, this medication plays an important role in improving blood sugar control in various situations.
This medication is administered once daily at a dose of 100 mg for monotherapy or combination therapy, with a maximum daily dose of 100 mg. For renal impairment patients, dose adjustment is needed based on renal function. - For mild to moderate renal impairment (glomerular filtration rate 45 to less than 90), no dose adjustment is needed. - For glomerular filtration rate 30 to less than 45, administer 50 mg once daily. - For glomerular filtration rate 15 to less than 30
