View approved original text

This medicine helps to control blood sugar for patients with type 2 diabetes by assisting with diet and exercise. It can be used alone for initial treatment, and if blood sugar control is difficult with monotherapy, it may be used in combination with metformin. Additionally, when blood sugar cannot be adequately controlled with other diabetes medications such as sulfonylureas, metformin, thiazolidinediones, or insulin, this medicine can be added to manage blood sugar. This medicine is also used to improve treatment effectiveness in various combination therapy scenarios where blood sugar control is not smooth.
