This medication is used to relieve symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, and tearing caused by colds, allergies, and vasomotor rhinitis. It helps improve these symptoms to make daily life more comfortable for patients.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults: 1 capsule 3 times a day after meals.

Precautions

This medication contains pseudoephrine, which can cause severe skin reactions such as acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis during use. If fever or red spots, small blisters appear on the skin, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician or pharmacist. Additionally, people with hypersensitivity to this medication, severe liver or kidney dysfunction, severe heart diseases, urinary disorders, hypertension or coronary artery disease, pregnant or breastfeeding women, children under 2 years of age, and those taking certain medications should not take this medication. When taking this medication, do not combine it with various medications that affect the nervous system, such as blood pressure medications, alcohol, sleeping pills, sedatives, and MAO inhibitors. Especially, this medication should be taken only after at least 15 days have passed since stopping an MAO inhibitor. During treatment, it is advisable to avoid activities requiring concentration, such as driving or operating dangerous machinery. Those with asthma, glaucoma, heart disease, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, benign prostatic hyperplasia, or children under 12 years of age must consult a physician or pharmacist before use. If symptoms do not improve within 7 days or if a high fever occurs, stop taking the medication immediately and consult medical personnel, and if weird symptoms such as sedation, drowsiness, anxiety, visual abnormalities, hallucinations, muscle spasms, difficulty breathing, skin rashes, gastrointestinal disturbances, or urinary difficulties occur, stop taking and consult an expert. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hallucinations, seizures, nervousness, dizziness, and insomnia may appear, so caution is advised, and appropriate emergency measures are needed when these symptoms occur. Keep this medication out of reach of children, and store it in its original container in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Transferring medicines to other containers can lead to quality degradation or misuse accidents, so it must be stored in the original container.

Side effects and when to seek care immediately

Serious side effects

  • Acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP), high fever, erythema, multiple small pustules and other severe skin reactions
  • Respiratory paralysis, coma, circulatory collapse, and other central nervous system abnormalities
  • Sudden and very severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, altered consciousness, visual disturbances
  • Urinary difficulties, formation of residual urine, severe swelling
  • Acute intoxication (hallucinations and seizures)
  • Symptoms of ischemic colitis (abrupt abdominal pain, rectal bleeding)
  • Reversible posterior leukoencephalopathy syndrome and reversible

Mild side effects

Sedation, drowsiness, central nervous system depression, central nervous system stimulation, anxiety, sweating, mild hypotension, visual disturbances, mydriasis, nonsensical speech, hallucinations, excitation, muscle spasms, rigidity, athetosis, clonic and tonic seizures, thirst, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, insomnia, gastrointestinal disturbances, temporary irritation or burning sensations, excitement (in children)

Interactions

Drug interactions

Do not take this medication with antihypertensives, central nervous system depressants (sleeping pills, sedatives, tranquilizers), MAO inhibitors, sympathomimetics, tricyclic antidepressants, guanethidine, bretylium, beta-nide, debrisoquine, methyl dopa, sympathomimetic drugs (decongestants, appetite suppressants, stimulants like amphetamine), and adrenergic inhibitors. Use after at least 15 days have passed since the administration of MAO inhibitors.

Food interactions

Do not take this medication with alcohol.

Storage

Store this medication in a tightly sealed container to avoid exposure to air or moisture. It is important to maintain a storage temperature between 1 degree and 30 degrees Celsius room temperature. This will ensure the medication remains effective and safe for a long time.
