This medication is used to control nausea and vomiting in pregnant women who do not respond to conservative therapy.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication should be taken on an empty stomach with water. Swallow the tablets whole; do not crush, cut, or chew them. As an initial dose, take 2 tablets once daily before bedtime (on the first day). If symptoms are adequately controlled the next day, continue taking 2 tablets once daily before bedtime. If symptoms persist until the afternoon of the second day, take 2 tablets before bedtime on the second day and 3 tablets on the third day (1 tablet in the morning and 2 tablets before bedtime).

Precautions

This medication should be avoided by certain patients. Individuals with known allergies to this medication, its components, or similar antihistamines should not take it. Patients at risk for asthma attacks should also not take this medication. Patients with glaucoma characterized by increased intraocular pressure, those with obstructive ulcers or pyloric obstruction issues, and those with bladder outlet obstruction should avoid this medication. Additionally, individuals taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors should be cautious when using this medication as it may enhance central nervous system side effects. Those with allergies to soybean oil, soy, peanuts, etc., should also refrain from taking this medication. This medication should be used cautiously in certain patients. Its safety has not been thoroughly studied in patients with severe morning sickness during pregnancy, so caution is advised. Patients taking alcohol or other central nervous system depressants, sleep aids, or tranquilizers should also be cautious when taking this medication. The safety of this medication has not been established in patients with liver or kidney dysfunction; therefore, careful use is required. Patients with lipid metabolism disorders or those using lipid emulsions should monitor and regulate their blood lipid levels when taking this medication. This medication may cause drowsiness, thus it is advisable to avoid activities that require alertness such as driving or operating machinery. Also, taking it along with alcohol or other central nervous system depressants may increase the risk of drowsiness or accidents. Taking this medication with food may reduce or delay its effectiveness; therefore, it is recommended to take it on an empty stomach with water. This medication may produce false positive results in some drug tests, requiring confirmatory tests. This medication can be used during pregnancy, but caution is needed as high doses during early pregnancy may affect the fetus. During breastfeeding, this medication may pass into breast milk and cause sedation or hypersensitivity reactions in the infant, so it is safest to discontinue breastfeeding while taking this medication. In children under 18 years of age, the safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established, and care should be taken as serious side effects may occur in case of overdose. In case of overdose, symptoms may include dry mouth, drowsiness, dizziness, confusion, increased heart rate, and severe cases may lead to seizures or renal failure, necessitating immediate medical attention.
