Relief of painful muscle spasms in musculoskeletal disorders (cervical spondylosis, periarthritis of the shoulder)
This medication is used for painful muscle spasms associated with musculoskeletal disorders, such as cervical spondylosis occurring around the shoulders and arms, periarthritis of the shoulder, and low back pain.
Since this medication is a sustained release tablet, it should be taken whole without crushing, splitting, or chewing. Adults should take 1 tablet (75 mg of eperisone hydrochloride) twice a day orally after meals. Adjustments should be made according to age and symptoms.
This medication should not be used by patients who are allergic to it or have severe muscle weakness. Patients who have had allergic reactions to medications or have liver function issues should use this medication with caution. Allergic symptoms such as rash, itching, swelling, and difficulty breathing may occur while taking this medication, so if such symptoms appear, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor. If severe skin rashes, blisters, or stomatitis occur, discontinue use immediately and seek appropriate treatment. Function of the liver or kidneys may become abnormal, so if unusual symptoms arise, inform healthcare personnel. Neurological symptoms such as dizziness, drowsiness, and headaches may occur, so caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should discuss with their doctor before using this medication, as its safety during pregnancy may be uncertain. Breastfeeding women should refrain from taking this medication, and if necessary, should discontinue breastfeeding. Safety in children has not been sufficiently confirmed, so use in pediatric patients should be done cautiously. Elderly individuals may have reduced bodily function, thus caution should be exercised with dose adjustments when using this medication. If this drug is taken with similar medications or specific muscle relaxants, side effects may appear, so consultation with healthcare personnel is advised.
Urticaria, severe swelling (edema), difficulty breathing, shock and anaphylactic reactions, redness, toxic epidermal necrolysis (Lyell's syndrome), mucous membrane syndrome (Stevens-Johnson syndrome), severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, mucosal pain in mouth/eyes, profound lethargy (liver abnormalities), severe edema accompanied by high blood pressure, anaphylaxis, angioedema
