Precautions

This drug is a beta-lactam antibiotic and should not be used in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to penicillins or cephalosporins. There is a risk of increased side effects such as rashes in patients with viral diseases such as infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia. Patients who have previously experienced jaundice or liver dysfunction from this drug or penicillin should avoid re-administration due to the risk of recurrence. In patients with impaired liver function or severe renal impairment, drug concentrations may increase, requiring dosage adjustments and changes in dosing intervals. Patients with allergic constitutions or those who have previously experienced bronchial asthma, skin rashes, etc., should use this drug with caution due to the possibility of hypersensitivity reactions. In patients who have difficulty swallowing orally, elderly patients, or those in poor overall condition, there is a risk of bleeding due to vitamin K deficiency, so caution is necessary. Patients with gastrointestinal diseases who experience severe vomiting or diarrhea may not absorb the medication properly, so their condition should be assessed before administration. Gastrointestinal side effects such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, or vomiting may occur, especially in cases of severe diarrhea or bloody stools, and the medication should be stopped immediately, consulting a physician. Symptoms of liver dysfunction may also occur, necessitating regular liver function tests during long-term administration, and any adverse symptoms should be reported immediately. Rarely, serious skin reactions such as rash, itching, or severe cases like Stevens-Johnson syndrome may occur, and if a rash develops, the medication should be stopped immediately. Blood tests may show abnormalities such as leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, etc., so testing should be done if any unusual symptoms occur. Effects on the central nervous system may occur, leading to anxiety, drowsiness, or seizures, so if neurological symptoms arise, healthcare personnel should be notified. Patients with renal dysfunction should have their kidney function monitored regularly, and if abnormalities are present, administration should be stopped. This medication may interact with other drugs, so caution is needed, especially when used with anticoagulants or other antibiotics. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their physician before use and it is advisable to avoid administration during early pregnancy. Children, especially those under 12 years old or weighing less than 40 kg, have limited experience with this medication, and its use is not recommended. Elderly patients may experience side effects more readily due to diminished bodily functions, so dosage and administration intervals should be adjusted, with close observation. In case of overdose, gastrointestinal disturbances, renal failure, allergic reactions, etc., may occur, so administration should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment received. This medication should be stored in a dry place below 25 degrees and it is important to follow the appropriate dosage and instructions as directed by a physician.
