Mucolysis and improved sputum expectoration in acute and chronic respiratory diseases
This medication helps to thin and expel mucus associated with acute and chronic respiratory diseases, facilitating its discharge and aiding in the removal of phlegm. This promotes smooth airflow of mucus in the airways, making breathing more comfortable. Additionally, it lowers the viscosity of mucus and acts as an expectorant, effectively relieving coughs. This medicine is particularly useful in alleviating uncomfortable symptoms caused by respiratory diseases. Therefore, it is used for mucolysis and expectoration in acute and chronic respiratory diseases.
Adults: Administer 300 mg of erdosteine orally 2~3 times daily. When administered for acute respiratory disease, do not administer continuously for more than 10 days.
This medication should not be administered to certain patients. It should not be used in patients who are allergic to this drug or its components. In patients with liver cirrhosis or those with a deficiency in cystathionine synthase, this drug should not be administered as it may interfere with methionine metabolism. Patients with peptic ulcers should also avoid using this medication.
