This medication is used to treat diseases caused by excessive gastric acid secretion, such as ulcers in the stomach and duodenum, gastritis, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It is also effective in relieving the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease. It helps prevent gastric and duodenal ulcers caused by surgery or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Additionally, it plays a role in preventing Mendelson's syndrome when administered before anesthesia. It is used for treating various gastrointestinal conditions and improves symptoms by regulating gastric acid.
