Treatment of chronic constipation symptoms
This medication is used for adult patients with chronic constipation symptoms when relief from laxative treatment is difficult. It helps improve discomfort caused by constipation and promotes bowel movement to normalize defecation activities. It enhances bowel health during consumption and can be used safely over a long period. Thus, it is effectively used for the treatment of chronic constipation.
This medication is taken orally and can be administered at any time of the day regardless of meals. Adults should take 2 mg once daily. For elderly patients over the age of 65, an initial dose of 1 mg once daily is recommended, which can be increased to 2 mg once daily if necessary. Patients with severe renal impairment and severe hepatic impairment should be given 1 mg once daily, while patients with mild to moderate impairment do not need dosage adjustments. 1 day 2 m
This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, it should not be given to patients with allergies to the active ingredient or excipients, those with severe renal impairment requiring dialysis, or those with serious structural problems or inflammation in the intestine. In addition, patients with genetic issues related to lactose intolerance should also avoid this medication. For patients with severely impaired kidney function, the dosage of this medication should be reduced and used cautiously. There has not been sufficient research on patients with severe diseases affecting the liver, heart, lungs, or nervous system, so caution is required. Patients with a history of arrhythmias or ischemic heart disease should use this medication carefully. Patients with severely reduced liver function should also be administered at lower dosages. Caution is advised when using this medication with other drugs that may affect heart rhythm. Common gastrointestinal symptoms such as headache, nausea, diarrhea, and abdominal pain may occur during the administration of this medication. These side effects usually arise early in treatment and often resolve naturally over time. Rarely, symptoms like dizziness, tremors, palpitations, and fatigue have been reported. If symptoms such as heart palpitations arise, consult a doctor immediately. Severe diarrhea may reduce the effectiveness of oral contraceptives, so it is advisable to use additional contraceptive methods. This medication has a low risk of drug interactions; however, caution is needed when taken with certain antifungal drugs or heart-related medications. Furthermore, it is advisable not to use it with atropine-like substances that may reduce the effectiveness of this medication. There are no specific interactions with food. Use of this medication during pregnancy is not recommended, and women of childbearing age should use effective contraceptive methods while taking it. It is also not recommended for use during breastfeeding. It is advised not to administer this medication to children and adolescents under the age of 18. In case of overdose, symptoms such as headache, nausea, and diarrhea may appear, and appropriate treatment is required according to the symptoms. If severe diarrhea or vomiting results in fluid loss, electrolyte supplementation may be necessary. This medication may cause dizziness and fatigue during early use, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery. Finally, this medication should be stored out of the reach of children and kept in its original container to avoid moisture.
