Treatment of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, nasal polyps, and acute rhinosinusitis.
This medication is used for the relief of symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis in adults and children aged 2 years and older. It may be started prophylactically 2 to 4 weeks prior to the allergen exposure period, particularly for those with moderate to severe seasonal allergic rhinitis. Furthermore, it is effective for the treatment of nasal polyps occurring within the sinuses in adults aged 18 and older. Additionally, it helps relieve symptoms of acute rhinosinusitis without severe bacterial infection in adults and adolescents aged 12 and older. Through these benefits, it can be utilized for the improvement of various rhinitis and sinus conditions.
1. Allergic Rhinitis Adults (including the elderly) and adolescents aged 12 and older: Generally, spray twice in each nostril once a day (total daily dose 0.2 mg). Once symptoms improve, the maintenance dose can be reduced to once in each nostril (total daily dose 0.1 mg). If symptoms do not improve, the dose can be increased up to 4 times in each nostril once a day (total daily dose 0.4 mg). 2. Nasal Polyps Generally, spray twice in each nostril once a day (total daily dose 0.2 mg). If symptoms do not improve after 5 to 6 weeks, the dose can be increased to twice daily spraying (total daily dose 0.4 mg), and if symptoms improve, the dose should be reduced. If no symptom improvement is seen after 5 to 6 weeks of twice-daily administration, other treatment methods should be considered. There are no studies on the use of this medication for more than 4 months for the treatment of nasal polyps. 3. Acute Rhinosinusitis Generally, spray twice in each nostril twice a day (total daily dose 0.4 mg).
Children aged 2 to 11 years: Generally, spray once in each nostril once a day (total daily dose 0.1 mg).
