Improvement of chronic arterial occlusive disease (ulcers, pain, etc.) and prevention of recurrent cerebral infarction
This medication is used to improve ischemic symptoms such as ulcers, pain, and coldness caused by chronic arterial occlusive disease, and to prevent recurrence after a cerebral infarction.
As cilostazol, the usual adult dose is 100mg orally twice a day. Adjustments should be made appropriately based on age and symptoms.
This medication may increase heart rate and cause symptoms of angina, so symptoms such as chest pain should be monitored closely. It should not be used in patients at high risk of bleeding, patients with congestive heart failure, patients with allergies to this medication or its ingredients, and women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Caution is required when administering to patients taking anticoagulants or antiplatelet agents, women menstruating, patients with coronary artery disease, patients with severe renal or hepatic failure, and patients with diabetes. This medication can cause serious side effects such as bleeding, blood cell reduction, interstitial pneumonia, heart-related anomalies, and liver dysfunction, so if abnormal symptoms occur, administration should be immediately stopped and treatment sought. Dizziness may occur, so caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. This medication is metabolized in the liver, so when used in combination with certain medications, blood concentrations may increase, raising the risk of side effects, necessitating dose adjustments and careful monitoring. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not take this medication, and breastfeeding should be discontinued if nursing. Safety for pediatric or neonatal use has not been established, so caution is needed in such cases. Elderly individuals should use this medication with care, as physical function may be reduced, and doses should be adjusted. In case of overdose, symptoms like headache, diarrhea, hypotension, tachycardia, and arrhythmias may occur, and immediate medical attention should be sought.
