Relief of moderate to severe acute and chronic pain
Used to relieve acute or chronic pain ranging from moderate to severe.
Children aged 12 and older and adults: Adjust the dosage based on the patient's level of pain and treatment response. For the initial dose, it is recommended to take 2 tablets, ensuring that subsequent doses are given at least 6 hours apart and do not exceed 8 tablets in a day. Administer the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration possible. Avoid prolonged use of this medication beyond necessity; if long-term use is required due to the nature and severity of the disease, regular monitoring should be conducted to assess the continued necessity of this medication. In elderly patients, it is advised to administer the usual adult dosage. However, since the half-life of tramadol has increased by 17% for those over 75 years old, ensure doses are administered at intervals of at least 6 hours. In renal impairment, patients with moderate renal impairment (creatinine clearance of 10-30mL/min) should have an extended interval of 12 hours between doses. It is not recommended for patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance of less than 10 mL/min). Tramadol is eliminated very slowly during dialysis, therefore re-administration after dialysis for maintaining effect is not necessary. In hepatic impairment, for patients with moderate hepatic impairment, careful consideration should be given to extend the dosing interval. Do not administer this medication to patients with moderate hepatic impairment.
This medication may put a strain on the liver, so those who regularly consume more than three alcoholic drinks a day should consult with a doctor or pharmacist before taking it. If a rash or allergic reaction appears during the course of taking this medication, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. The ingredients of this medication can trigger seizures, so patients with a history of seizures or those at high risk for seizures should exercise particular caution. Administering this medication to patients with acute asthma and breathing difficulties can be life-threatening, so it should only be used in facilities equipped with necessary medical equipment. This medication can affect the central nervous system, potentially causing drowsiness or dizziness; be cautious when driving or operating machinery. Taking this medication with other central nervous system depressants or alcohol increases the risk of respiratory depression, profound sedation, and coma. Patients with weak liver or kidney function should consult with a doctor prior to use, as the components of this medication may not be adequately processed, leading to increased side effects. This medication should not be used in children under 12 years old or in adolescents under 18 who have undergone specific surgeries, especially since children are at risk of respiratory depression. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should consult healthcare professionals, as this medication may affect the fetus or baby. Dosages should be strictly adhered to, and care should be taken to avoid overlapping with other painkillers; sudden cessation may lead to withdrawal symptoms. In cases of overdose, serious respiratory depression, seizures, liver damage, etc., can occur, so the medication should be taken according to the prescribed method, and healthcare institutions should be visited immediately if any suspicious situations arise.
