Summary

Main use
Relief of moderate to severe acute and chronic pain
Who takes it
Adults
Adult dose
Children aged 12 and older and adults: Adjust the dosage based on the patient's level of pain and treatment response. For the initial dose, it is recommended to take 2 tablets, ensuring that subsequent doses are given at least 6 hours apart and do not exceed 8 tablets in a day. Administer the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration possible. Avoid prolonged use of this medication beyond necessity; if long-term use is required due to the nature and severity of the disease, regular monitoring should be conducted to assess the continued necessity of this medication. In elderly patients, it is advised to administer the usual adult dosage. However, since the half-life of tramadol has increased by 17% for those over 75 years old, ensure doses are administered at intervals of at least 6 hours. In renal impairment, patients with moderate renal impairment (creatinine clearance of 10-30mL/min) should have an extended interval of 12 hours between doses. It is not recommended for patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance of less than 10 mL/min). Tramadol is eliminated very slowly during dialysis, therefore re-administration after dialysis for maintaining effect is not necessary. In hepatic impairment, for patients with moderate hepatic impairment, careful consideration should be given to extend the dosing interval. Do not administer this medication to patients with moderate hepatic impairment.
