Prevention of asthma and relief of allergic rhinitis symptoms
This medication helps prevent asthma attacks and continuously treats asthma. It is also effective in relieving symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis. Therefore, it is used to improve symptoms of asthma and allergic rhinitis.
This medication is taken once daily; in the case of asthma patients, it should be taken in the evening, while in the case of allergic rhinitis patients, the dosage time should be determined according to the patient's condition. For patients with both asthma and allergic rhinitis, take 1 tablet once daily in the evening. This medication is to be administered 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals.
Children aged 2 to 5 years are to chew 4 mg of montelukast once a day. This medication is to be administered 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals.
This medication is used to treat asthma and allergic rhinitis. During treatment with this drug, significant neuropsychiatric symptoms may occur, so patients and caregivers should consult a doctor immediately if there are any new behavior changes or suicidal thoughts. This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame, which should be avoided by patients with phenylketonuria, and the daily intake limit of aspartame should be observed. Individuals with a known allergy to this medication should not take it. During treatment, various adverse reactions such as fatigue, headache, dyspepsia, cough, and rash may occur, and if any of these symptoms persist, the healthcare professional should be informed. This is not a treatment for acute asthma attacks, so separate emergency medications should always be prepared in case of an asthma attack. Corticosteroid preparations should not be abruptly replaced, and the dosing should be adjusted gradually under a doctor's direction. This medication should not be used alone for exercise-induced bronchospasm but should be used in conjunction with inhaled bronchodilators if necessary. Patients with hypersensitivity to aspirin or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should avoid the use of these medications while taking this drug. Rarely, symptoms of vasculitis associated with eosinophilia may occur; if any symptoms arise, medical observation and treatment are necessary. No specific drug interactions have been reported when taken with other medications, but caution is needed when used in combination with certain enzyme inducers. During pregnancy, it should be used only if absolutely necessary, and caution is needed during breastfeeding. Children and the elderly can use this medication, but the dosage and administration should be adjusted according to age. In case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, so appropriate treatment and monitoring are required based on symptoms. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers. Follow the doctor's instructions during treatment and consult immediately if symptoms worsen or new symptoms appear.
Hives, severe swelling (edema), angioedema, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe allergic reactions, severe skin adverse reactions, high fever with severe rash, blisters, skin peeling, oral/ocular mucosal pain, toxic epidermal necrolysis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, shortness of breath or labored breathing, asthma attack, respiratory abnormalities accompanied by cough and fever, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), and severe systemic symptoms
