This medication is used in patients with essential hypertension who find it difficult to control blood pressure with monotherapy of telmisartan or amlodipine, allowing for more effective blood pressure control. This helps prevent complications related to hypertension and maintains health.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dose for this medication is 1 tablet once daily, to be taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). Individual component doses can be adjusted; however, if blood pressure is not controlled, switching to this medication may be considered. In cases of severe renal impairment, initiation with a lower dose is recommended, followed by gradual titration. For patients with liver impairment, the daily dose of telmisartan should not exceed 40 mg.

Precautions

This medication may seriously harm the fetus when taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters; therefore, women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not take it. Patients with heart disease should be cautious as the risk of angina or myocardial infarction may increase while taking this medication. This medication may induce drowsiness or dizziness, so caution is necessary when driving or operating hazardous machinery. There may be interactions with other medications taken concurrently, so all medications being used should be disclosed to healthcare providers. Nursing mothers should refrain from taking this medication, and if necessary, consult with healthcare providers.
