Prevention of vitamin deficiency in patients receiving parenteral nutrition and in cases of trauma (surgery, burns, etc.) and severe infections
This medication helps maintain vitamins in patients receiving nutrition via intravenous infusion. It is also used to prevent vitamin deficiency in patients who have undergone surgical procedures or suffered severe burns, fractures, or other trauma, as well as those with severe infections or in a comatose state.
Dissolve this medication in 5mL of injectable distilled water by gently shaking, then mix within 5 minutes into 500mL to 1000mL of intravenous glucose distilled water, saline injection, or similar infusion solution for intravenous drip once daily.
Children aged 11 and older follow the same dosage guidelines as adults.
This medication should be used with caution in women within the first three months of pregnancy or those who may become pregnant, as exceeding 5,000 IU of vitamin A per day may pose a risk of congenital malformation. It should not be administered to patients with allergic reactions to this drug or its ingredients and to patients with hemophilia. Patients with hypercalcemia may experience worsened symptoms due to the vitamin D included in this drug; therefore, blood and urine tests should be conducted to monitor their condition, and caution is advised for patients with impaired kidney function due to the risk of further deterioration from excessive vitamin D intake. In pediatric patients aged 11 and older, it should be administered with caution, and patients with a history of allergies such as bronchial asthma, rash, urticaria, or previous drug hypersensitivity should also be monitored carefully. Overdosage may cause hypersensitivity reactions to vitamins A and D, and symptoms of shock or anaphylaxis may occur, so patients should be closely monitored during administration. Long-term administration for several weeks should include testing for accumulation of vitamins A and D in the body. This drug may interact with specific medications; therefore, it should not be used with acetazolamide, sodium chlorthalidone, hydrochloric acid tetracycline, or alkaline solutions, as folic acid may become unstable in the presence of calcium salts. Additionally, the pyridoxine hydrochloride component included in this drug may reduce the effects of levodopa, so caution is warranted. Pregnant or lactating women should adhere strictly to dosage and administration guidelines to avoid side effects from excessive vitamin A intake. Safety and efficacy in children under 11 years old have not been established, so it should be used with caution. Elderly patients may have decreased bodily functions, requiring attention to dosage adjustments. This medication may affect urinalysis results or other urine tests, so this should be considered during testing. When using this product, it should be used immediately after opening, and any remaining drug should not be reused, as it contains light-sensitive components and should be stored in a shaded manner. Do not inject the undiluted concentrate directly but must be diluted for use, and if mixed with protein amino acid preparations, it should be used within 8 hours.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication should be stored in a sealed container at room temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius. Proper storage will help maintain the drug's efficacy safely.
