This medication is used in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with either Amlodipine or Valsartan alone. It helps reduce blood pressure more effectively, thus reducing cardiovascular risk.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is advised to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). 5/80 milligrams: Administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with Amlodipine 5 milligrams or Valsartan 80 milligrams as monotherapy. 5/160 milligrams: Administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with Amlodipine 5 milligrams or Valsartan 160 milligrams as monotherapy.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established in pediatric patients under 18 years of age, so its use is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimester of pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. It should not be taken if allergic to its active ingredients or similar components, or if pregnant or breastfeeding. Patients with very poor kidney function or severe liver problems should also avoid using this medication. This medication may cause dizziness or fatigue when driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised. Overdose can lead to severe hypotension or heart rhythm irregularities, necessitating prompt medical attention. Additionally, this medication may interact with other specific drugs, so any other medications being taken should be reported to healthcare providers. This medication is not recommended for children under 18 years of age, as safety and efficacy have not been adequately established. Elderly patients may take similar doses as adults, but should follow the physician's instructions based on their condition. Pregnant women or those planning to become pregnant should not use this medication, and breastfeeding women should also avoid it.
