Improvement in blood pressure control in essential hypertension with the combination of Amlodipine and Valsartan
This medication is used in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with either Amlodipine or Valsartan alone. It helps reduce blood pressure more effectively, thus reducing cardiovascular risk.
The recommended dosage is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is advised to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). 5/80 milligrams: Administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with Amlodipine 5 milligrams or Valsartan 80 milligrams as monotherapy. 5/160 milligrams: Administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with Amlodipine 5 milligrams or Valsartan 160 milligrams as monotherapy.
Safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established in pediatric patients under 18 years of age, so its use is not recommended.
This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimester of pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. It should not be taken if allergic to its active ingredients or similar components, or if pregnant or breastfeeding. Patients with very poor kidney function or severe liver problems should also avoid using this medication. Patients with specific conditions, such as a history of angioedema, severe aortic stenosis, heart failure, or acute myocardial infarction should use this medication cautiously. This medication may cause hypotension in patients with depleted sodium or body fluid, so pre-treatment condition should be thoroughly assessed, and administration should occur under doctor’s supervision if necessary. Patients with high potassium levels should be cautious when taking this medication with other drugs that may increase potassium levels, and potassium levels should be checked frequently. Patients with kidney problems or those who have received a kidney transplant require careful monitoring while using this medication. If symptoms of angioedema occur while taking this medication, it should be stopped immediately and should not be reused. Patients with heart failure or post-myocardial infarction should frequently monitor their condition, including kidney function, while on this medication. This medication may cause dizziness or fatigue when driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised. Overdose can lead to severe hypotension or heart rhythm irregularities, necessitating prompt medical attention. Additionally, this medication may interact with other specific drugs, so any other medications being taken should be reported to healthcare providers. This medication is not recommended for children under 18 years of age, as safety and efficacy have not been adequately established. Elderly patients may take similar doses as adults, but should follow the physician's instructions based on their condition. Pregnant women or those planning to become pregnant should not use this medication, and breastfeeding women should also avoid it.
Hives, severe swelling (edema), angioedema, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, paleness, severe rash with high fever, blisters, peeling skin, painful mucous membranes in the mouth/eyes, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory difficulties with cough and fever, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), severe lethargy, sudden and extreme headache, lightning headache, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances

This medication should be stored in a tightly closed container to prevent exposure to air or moisture. The appropriate storage temperature is room temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius.
