Treatment of gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, relief of symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease, and maintenance therapy.
This medication is effective for the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers and is used to relieve the symptoms of erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease. It is also suitable for long-term maintenance therapy of gastroesophageal reflux disease and enhances therapeutic effects when combined with antibiotics in patients with gastrointestinal ulcers infected by Helicobacter pylori. It is also used to treat Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, which occurs rarely. Overall, it helps to improve and treat symptoms associated with various gastrointestinal disorders.
For gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer: administer 10 mg orally once daily. Depending on symptoms, 20 mg may be administered orally once daily. For erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease: administer 10 mg or 20 mg orally once daily for 4 to 8 weeks. If not treated, 10 mg or 20 mg may be administered orally twice daily for an additional 8 weeks. For relief of symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease: administer once daily.
This medication should not be used by individuals with allergies or a history of hypersensitivity to specific components. Additionally, those who are taking certain antibiotics or other medications should avoid using this drug concurrently. It is advised that pregnant or nursing women do not use this medication. Care should be taken in patients with liver function impairment, older adults, and individuals with a history of drug allergies. This medication may cause allergic reactions such as skin rashes, itching, and urticaria, and if such symptoms occur, treatment should be discontinued. It is important to regularly check for abnormalities in blood tests, requiring liver function tests as well. Various side effects can occur in the cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, nervous, respiratory, musculoskeletal, and dermatological systems, so patients should consult a physician if they experience any unusual symptoms. There is an increased risk of bone fractures with long-term use of this medication, and electrolyte imbalances such as hypomagnesemia may occur, necessitating caution. Suppressing gastric acid secretion may increase the risk of some bacterial infections, so if diarrhea persists, it is critical to inform a physician immediately. Caution is advised when driving or operating machinery as drowsiness may occur. There may be interactions with other medications, so individuals taking other drugs must inform their healthcare provider. This medication should be swallowed whole and not chewed or crushed, and it should be stored out of the reach of children. It is recommended to have regular check-ups and tests during long-term use, and if any unusual symptoms arise, discontinue the medication immediately and consult a healthcare professional.
Urticaria, severe swelling, tightness in the chest, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/eye mucosa, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attack, respiratory abnormalities with cough and fever, yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy throughout the body, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion of consciousness, visual disturbances, paralysis, significantly reduced urine output.

This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container away from air and moisture, and the storage temperature should be maintained between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius at room temperature. Proper storage will help maintain the medication's effectiveness and prevent deterioration.
