Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus when taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters; it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, nursing mothers, patients with certain liver or kidney conditions, and patients with hereditary angioedema should not take this medication. Elderly patients, those with hyperkalemia, liver dysfunction, or heart failure should use this medication with caution and monitor blood pressure and kidney function frequently. Blood pressure may drop dramatically when starting this medication, so patients undergoing dialysis or taking diuretics, or those on strict salt restriction should start with a low dose and monitor their condition carefully. During treatment, side effects such as headaches, dizziness, fatigue, cough, and diarrhea may occur, and in rare cases, serious adverse reactions like angioedema, kidney damage, hepatitis, or hypoglycemia may occur. Particular caution is needed as there is an increased risk of elevated serum potassium levels in patients with hyperkalemia or those taking potassium-sparing diuretics. Interactions may occur with other antihypertensives, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and lithium formulations, so consultation with a physician is necessary. Pregnant women should be cautioned against using this medication, and nursing mothers should either avoid it or discontinue breastfeeding. Safety and efficacy in children and adolescents have not been established, so use is not recommended. In case of overdose, severe hypotension or shock may occur, and immediate hospital treatment should be sought if suspected. This medication should be stored out of reach of children, and care should be taken not to transfer it to other containers.
