Nighttime muscle cramps are sudden contractions of muscles that typically occur at night, causing pain. This condition commonly occurs in the leg or arm muscles, making it difficult for the patient to settle into a comfortable sleep. These symptoms can arise from various causes, such as lack of exercise, dehydration, or mineral imbalances. The medication helps to alleviate excessive muscle contractions and reduce pain. Therefore, this medication is used to relieve symptoms of nighttime muscle cramps.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults and the elderly: Take 1 to 2 tablets daily with sufficient water. It is advisable to take it before bedtime. If cramping occurs, it may be taken for a maximum of 4 weeks.

Child dose

Not recommended for individuals under 18 years.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by patients with hypercalcemia or sarcoidosis, a systemic inflammatory disease of unknown cause, as well as individuals with kidney disease. Additionally, those with allergic reactions to this drug or its ingredients should also avoid using it. Infants under 12 months, kidney stone patients, and those with severe kidney failure should not take this medication. This drug contains lactose, so individuals with Galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take it. During the use of this drug, it is advisable not to take other medications such as phosphates, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, or antacids together. Women who are undergoing treatment, pregnant or may become pregnant, breastfeeding mothers, premature infants, and infants should consult with a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. Patients with heart or circulatory problems or impaired renal function should minimize the duration of use, and individuals with hypoproteinemia, those taking cardiac glycosides, patients with a history of kidney stones, liver damage, gastrointestinal ulcers, diabetes, or gout should also consult an expert before use. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, hypotension, flushing, irregular heartbeat, skin rash or itching, dizziness, headache, or signs of liver damage occur during use, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor or pharmacist. Overdose may result in symptoms such as gastrointestinal disturbances, hypernatremia, heart failure, and edema, requiring caution. Long-term use may lead to hypercalcemia or the formation of stones, so regular checks are necessary. Additionally, taking it with specific diuretics may cause hyperkalemia. If an overdose occurs or if symptoms do not improve after one week of use, consult an expert immediately. Follow the prescribed dosage and administration strictly, and it is advisable to avoid tea containing tannins, such as green or black tea, before and after taking this medication. Store this medication out of reach of children, avoiding direct sunlight and storing it in a cool, dry place. To prevent misuse and maintain the quality of the drug, do not transfer it to another container.
