Nutritional improvement through trace element supplementation.
This medication is used to supplement trace elements necessary for intravenous nutrition. It helps when a patient is unable to obtain sufficient essential trace elements in the body. Trace elements are essential for various metabolic processes and maintaining function in the body, thus contributing to nutritional improvement. Therefore, this medication prevents and improves nutritional imbalances in patients receiving intravenous nutrition therapy.
Adults: Administer 10 mL per day when the daily basic requirement of trace elements is needed or when the daily requirement is moderately increased. This medication must be diluted before administration.
Children (weighing 15 kg or more): 0.1 mL per kg of body weight per day. This medication must be diluted before administration.
This medication must be diluted before administration and should be used according to a physician's instructions. It should not be administered to patients who are allergic to this medication or its components, those with obstructed bile ducts, patients with zinc toxicity, those with iron accumulation or iron utilization disorders, those who have copper accumulation, or patients with elevated blood levels of trace elements contained in this medication. Caution is needed when administering to patients with abnormalities in bile duct or kidney function that significantly affect trace element excretion, patients with impaired liver function, patients receiving intravenous nutrition for more than four weeks, and to neonates and children, with regular monitoring of liver function and trace element levels. Adverse reactions due to trace elements in this medication have not been reported, but if this medication is mixed with dextrose injection, superficial thrombophlebitis may occur. When used locally, allergic reactions to iodine may occur, but such reactions are rare when administered intravenously at recommended dosages. For continuous administration for more than four weeks, liver function and manganese levels should be monitored, and if manganese levels rise, administration should be stopped to avoid toxicity. In patients with impaired kidney or liver function, there is a heightened risk of accumulation of trace elements, and in patients with chronic high iron levels, complications such as hyperferremia may occur. In case of deficiency of specific trace elements, only the deficiency should be selectively corrected. There are no data regarding the safety of this medication during pregnancy; it should only be used during pregnancy if the therapeutic benefit outweighs the risks. Safety during breastfeeding has not been established, and it is advisable to either suspend breastfeeding or discontinue the medication during administration. This medication can be used mixed with dextrose injection, but it should not be administered with other solutions whose compatibility has not been confirmed. Dilution should be done in an aseptic manner, and the diluted solution should be used immediately. The mixed diluted solution must be infused within 24 hours, and any remaining solution should be discarded.
Superficial thrombophlebitis, iodine hypersensitivity reactions.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication should be stored in a sealed container to prevent air and moisture exposure. The ideal storage temperature is to maintain room temperature between 1 degree and 25 degrees Celsius.
