How to take

Adult dose

It is recommended to take one tablet as the initial dose, thereafter the dosing intervals should be at least 12 hours apart, and should not exceed 4 tablets in one day. Avoid prolonged use beyond necessity; if long-term use is required, regular monitoring should be conducted. Elderly patients should receive the usual adult dosage; however, those aged 75 and older should be dosed with at least 12-hour intervals.

Precautions

This medication may burden the liver; therefore, individuals who regularly consume large amounts of alcohol should consult their doctor or pharmacist before taking it. Due to the ingredients in this medication, serious skin allergic reactions may occur rarely, so if symptoms such as rash or itching develop, stop taking it immediately and consult a healthcare professional. One of the main components of this medication may cause seizures; therefore, patients with a history of seizures or at high risk for seizures should use it cautiously, as the risk may increase when taken with certain other medications. Rarely, life-threatening allergic reactions may occur, so if symptoms like breathing difficulty or severe hives develop, seek medical attention immediately. Patients with acute asthma are at risk of difficulty breathing; thus, this medication should only be administered in a medically equipped facility. Taking this medication with alcohol or certain central nervous system depressants may cause severe drowsiness, respiratory depression, or coma, so extreme caution is necessary when using these drugs together. Patients with head injuries or brain disorders may experience worsening symptoms due to respiratory depression, and caution is advised. This medication may lead to dependence, so for long-term use, the duration and dosage should be adjusted according to a healthcare professional’s guidance. Patients with impaired liver function should consult a doctor before taking this medication, as the risk of liver damage may increase when taken with other acetaminophen preparations. People with certain genotypes may metabolize this medication too quickly, raising the risk of respiratory depression; in such cases, dose adjustment and symptom monitoring are necessary. It is not safe to use this medicine in children under 12 years old or adolescents under 18 years old who have undergone tonsillectomy or adenoidectomy. This medication can cause hyponatremia, which is a decrease in sodium concentration in the blood, particularly in elderly patients or those with risk factors who require monitoring for symptoms. Patients who have allergies to the medication's components, severe respiratory depression, severe liver, kidney, or heart diseases, those taking certain medications, nursing mothers, and children under 12 years old should not take this medication. Drowsiness or dizziness may occur during use, so caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. In case of overdose, there is a risk of severe respiratory depression and liver damage, so stick strictly to the recommended dosage, and contact a medical institution immediately in case of overdose.
