How to take

Adult dose

Adults and adolescents 15 years and older: 20 mL per dose, taken orally 3 to 4 times a day after meals and at bedtime.

Child dose

Children: For ages 12 years and older to under 15 years, 13 mL per dose, taken orally 3 to 4 times a day after meals and at bedtime.

Precautions

This medication should be used with caution in patients under 18 years of age who are obese, have obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, or severe lung disease, as there is a high risk of severe respiratory depression. Patients who have had allergic reactions to this medication or its ingredients should not take it, and those taking MAO inhibitors, including antidepressants or antipsychotic medications, or who have stopped taking them within the last 2 weeks should also avoid this medication. Children under 12 years of age, nursing women, patients with glaucoma, and those with lower urinary tract obstruction diseases such as prostate enlargement are also recommended not to use this medication. Patients with allergies or a history of allergic reactions to medications, those with poor liver or kidney function, patients with thyroid disease or diabetes, and patients who are frail or have a high fever should use this medication with caution. Patients with cardiovascular disease, seniors, pregnant women, or those who may become pregnant, as well as patients with increased intraocular pressure or urinary disorders should consult a doctor before use. Particularly, smokers, and patients with persistent or recurrent cough due to asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, or bronchiectasis need to be cautious before taking this medication. This medication may cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, constipation, dizziness, drowsiness, insomnia, and headaches, and in severe cases, shock or hypersensitivity reactions may occur. Therefore, if any abnormal symptoms appear, immediate consultation with medical personnel is required. Since drowsiness may occur during use, it is safer to avoid driving vehicles or operating machinery. Do not take this medication with other cold medicines, sedatives, or antihistamines, and be cautious as taking it with alcohol or central nervous system depressants may increase the drowsiness. Pregnant or nursing women are advised not to use this medication as it may inhibit milk secretion and can be passed into breast milk. In the case of overdose in children, symptoms such as hallucinations, agitation, seizures, and severe respiratory depression may occur, so special caution is needed, and it should not be used in children under 12 years old. Seniors may have weakened bodily functions, so their condition should be closely monitored during use. In cases of overdose, emergency treatment such as inducing vomiting or gastric lavage may be necessary, so immediate visit to a medical institution is required. This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container away from air or moisture, and it is safe to store it at room temperature between 1°C to 30°C. Additionally, do not transfer to another container; it is important to keep it in its original container to prevent misuse and maintain the quality of the medication.
